Fires
in Olympia |
Fires in Greece at the end of August 2007 reached Ancient Olympia. Surroundings of the Pierre de Coubertin Stele were burnt but fortunately the Stele itself did not suffer of severe damages. The CIPC joins the international community to express its solidarity to Greece and Olympia inhabitants. |
First
International Olympic Academy Medallists' session

36 medallists and Olympians, inclundig Olympic Champions such as Dick Fosbury, Gabriela Szabo, Hicham EL Guerrouj and Shannon Miller, came from 27 to 30 July 2007 to Ancient Olympia to participate in the first ever "International Olympic Academy Medallists' session". The opening ceremony took place at the Pierre de Coubertin Stele. |
